On December 3, Espace Ulys welcomed its International Talents

Nearly 80 people attended the event at the Université de Lyon, including scientists from all disciplines originating from more than 20 countries.

Espace Ulys would like to thank all newly arrived doctoral students and international researchers who accepted our invitation and whose enthusiasm made this welcome event a success.

As the Euraxess Centre of the Université de Lyon, the Espace Ulys offers a range of services designed to facilitate the mobility of international scientists in Lyon and Saint-Etienne.

In 2024, more than 450 doctoral students and researchers benefited from this support, with the belief that ensuring the quality of their stay means promoting cutting-edge, creative and innovative research.  

Key actors for the integration of International Talents, the member and associated institutions, laboratories, partners and a few associations were invited to share this informative and friendly moment.

Nathalie Dompnier, President of the ComUE, opened the evening by expressing her delight at welcoming so many diverse minds to this academic site, all of whom have chosen the University of Lyon.  

Moved by the spirit of integration, interculturalism and openness to future prospects

The evening was a lively one, with a series of contributions including: 

  • A presentation of the Université de Lyon's actions and its commitments to entrepreneurship, social and environmental responsibility 
  • Followed by a practical reminder of the formalities to be completed upon arrival, 
  • Punctuated by the testimonies of scientists who benefited from Ulys services at various stages of their stay.
By the end of this first informative session, and brightened by a fun and interactive display, the smiling assembly shared an informal and festive cocktail reception.
