Carpooling
Carpooling is a very popular mode of transport in France: drivers who are planning a journey offer the empty seats in their vehicles to other people who are looking to make the same journey, or part of this journey. An affordable way to travel and meet new people. Carpooling can also be used for your day-to-day journeys in the Metropolitan Area of Lyon, but also throughout France and to destinations abroad.
There are a number of carpooling websites. However, the most well-known website is blablacar. Other websites like Mobicoop, a cooperative platform, put drivers and passengers in touch with one another without charging any commission.
