THE PROJECT

Espace Ulys was created in January 2014 by the Université de Lyon to improve how foreign scientists are greeted and hosted. Aware of the challenges associated with relocation of talented personnel for research excellence, the Université de Lyon assigned management of the project to the Fondation pour l'Université de Lyon.

The improved range of services dedicated to welcoming and hosting foreign scientists is part of the IDEXLYON project which aims to make the Lyon Saint-Etienne campus a major player in research and higher education, both in Europe and the world.

Thanks to support from the Métropole de Lyon, collaborations with ONLYLYON and Aderly and a network of private partners, Espace Ulys contributes to the region’s influence.

Université de Lyon

Université de Lyon is a COMUE (community of universities and higher-education establishments) that includes 37 universities and higher-education institutions in the Lyon and Saint-Étienne area and the CNRS (national scientific research center), hosting ¬130,000 students and 12,000 researchers and ¬teacher-researchers.
